I surely did not. But now I do! Taking away that stupid front splitter really opens up a world of possibilities. Anyone seen one in person yet?

I like the new burb/tahoe shapes, I think that if they would trim the height down a little we would have one helluva wagon on our hands.

Kinja'd!!!

They also look great with lifts

My dream is for the Tahoe to be turned into an off-road focused vehicle like the 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Grand Cherokee. Let the current set up be Suburban and XL like the Acadia. This proves the Tahoe is begging for killer approach and departure angles.

That’s the first lifted one I’ve seen, and you damn right. Wow. Didn’t expect that. I’m a fan of all the straight lines on the body, even if it’s a little pinched in the back. I just truly despise front splitters on SUVs.

I agree. The Tahoe lost its groove a while ago:

I like it. I’d fit a bull bar and beefier tires, and loose the running boards.

I’ve seen a few previous gens roaming around like this. They look great. They have lots of power, economy and space but their off road cred it poor due to the corporate 10 bolt limits and lack of a dedicated off road traction logic.

I have a love/hate relationship with running boards - they rarely add much to a truck’s appearance, but life without them can get real old real quick.

I can take them or leave them for looks. Only reason I’d remove them is if I thought I was going to be driving primarily in off-road settings.

Slider steps FTW

Kinja'd!!!

They function like running boards with the exception that the will actually protect the body instead of mangling it when presented with an obstacle. I have slider steps on the cruiser and miss my running boars none percent.

I’ve been looking at a set for my cruiser. I’m looking at white knuckle off road, what brand are these?

Not sure (GIS pic) but I hear white knuckle is the way to go. I wish I would have sprung for the nicer ones but the Rocky Roads were so cheap with local pickup. Meh, they still do the job more or less.

I wish I had any option for pickup, its just a sunk cost for me. My main debate is what to do for the top: diamond plate, flat metal with traction tape, or some kind of expanded metal. Diamond plate doesn't provide much traction when you have snow on your shoes and I don't want my passengers falling out of my truck.

Mine is bare tubes with grip tape and its proven unflappable in all conditions and for all ages. Skip the extra expense and just grip tape it. That having been said. the gap is likely smaller than on the white knuckle so you will have to bear that in mind.

You actually can get a pretty good approach angle on Tahoes and Suburbans. Most of the stuff below the headllights is just plastic, and you can cut it all off and just have a bit of the frame sticking out. The Border Patrol Tahoes look like this:

And Yes, I love the new Z71s. They really could do alot more with the Tahoe platform, I would love to see a Raptor-esque Tahoe.

God, a Raptor-fighting Tahoe would be the tits.

Edit: I have dreamed about those border patrol editions. Looks great for a romp through the desert.

Indeed! I'm not a fan of GM vehicles (bad experience with a 4WD Sierra) but those Tahoes look sharp!
